Impact

We believe a sustainable future starts in the classroom. Using state-of-the-art hydroponic farming technology, students don’t just learn about the science of sustainability – they live it. Our curriculum ignites the joy of learning through the science of sustainability, transforming students into knowledgeable and confident Farmer Scientists. By growing fresh, nutritious food from seed-to-harvest, students gain invaluable insights into the connections between humans, technology, and the environment, and their direct relationship to climate change.

Our impact extends far beyond the classroom walls, empowering students with the knowledge and tools they need to become stewards of the planet.

How We Assess Our Impact

We annually conduct a thorough evaluation of our programming, guided by Key Performance Indicators using a data-driven approach. In addition to this internal assessment, we engage independent research firms to measure our influence across crucial domains, including science achievement and social-emotional learning.

Our curriculum seamlessly integrates evaluation tools to enable teachers to comprehensively assess the program’s impact on student learning. Teachers are empowered to monitor student progress through student journal pages, formative and summative assessments, and dynamic project-based learning experiences, all of which take center stage at our annual Discovering Sustainability Science Youth Conference.
