Spencer began his agricultural career as an apprentice on a popsicle farm in rural Georgia, sparking a deeper interest in sustainable agriculture, food access, and food sovereignty. He went on to work a wide variety of jobs throughout the food system, eventually moving to Colorado to complete a master’s degree in Sustainable Food Systems. He approaches agricultural education through both an academic and hands-on lens, and is passionate about creating a more just, equitable, and accessible food system through education and community engagement.
