CURRICULUM SPECIALIST
Position Summary
The 6-12 Curriculum Specialist will lead the integration of NY Sun Works’ curriculum at our partner schools. As a member in our team of enthusiastic educators, you’ll play a pivotal role in advancing educational initiatives, fostering collaboration among teachers, and ensuring engaging curriculum alignment with national standards. Join us in making a profound impact on PK-12 education while supporting the development of dynamic learning environments for students.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Deliver comprehensive training programs to partner teachers, enabling effective utilization of NY Sun Works’ science program within their curricula.
- Advise partner teachers on content connections within the NY Sun Works curriculum and suggest implementation timelines.
- Provide timely and comprehensive email support to address content-related inquiries.
- Develop and foster positive relationships with partner teachers to ensure effective collaboration.
- Travel to partner schools to facilitate meetings with partner teachers, with the possibility of conducting virtual meetings.
- Align existing educational materials with national and state curriculum standards.
- Develop new high quality curriculum resources based on the goals of the organization and needs of partner schools and teachers.
- Conduct research on curriculum innovation and best practices in K-12 science education.
- Utilize organizational tools such as Accelo, G Sheets, and other relevant resources to manage and organize program data effectively.
- Regularly update and maintain accurate records of information received from schools and other partners
- Schedule and conduct meetings with teachers and partner schools in person as well as remotely (based on organization standards) . This includes maintaining correspondence via email, phone, and text messaging.

Qualifications:
Education and Certification:
- Bachelor’s degree (required)
- Master’s in education, science, curriculum development, or a related field (required)
- Teaching certification (preferred)
Teaching Experience:
- Experience as an educator with a strong background in 6-12 science education (NYC experience a plus).
- Experience developing and implementing curriculum materials and educational resources.
- Familiarity with various teaching methodologies and best practices in science education.
Curriculum Development:
- Proficiency in curriculum development, including aligning materials with national and state curriculum standards.
- Experience delivering professional development workshops, webinars, or training programs for educators.
- Strong presentation and facilitation skills to effectively train and engage teachers in one to one and group settings.
Communication Skills:
- Excellent communication skills, including the ability to provide timely responses to content-related questions via email.
- Ability to build positive and productive relationships with partner teachers and school staff.
- Strong interpersonal skills for effective collaboration and support.
Travel and Flexibility:
- Willingness to travel to partner schools for meetings and training sessions, as well as the ability to conduct virtual meetings when necessary.

Job Location: New York City
The heart of this role is in-person, allowing you to be at the center of our dynamic work environment. You’ll typically enjoy standard working hours from 9am to -5 pm. However, we understand that life sometimes calls for flexibility. With that in mind, we are open to occasional remote work options, especially when travel or special circumstances arise.
Compensation:
This is a full-time position with a salary range of $60,000-$70,000 USD.

PARTNERSHIP DEVELOPMENT COORDINATOR
Position Summary
NY Sun Works seeks a motivated and entrepreneurial Partnership Development Coordinator to join our growing team. The Partnership Development Coordinator will have the exciting opportunity to spearhead our organizational growth by owning two complementary projects:
- Corporate Partnerships: Leading outreach to and management of corporate supporters across NYC to secure funds and volunteers
- National School Partnership Growth: Spearheading school partner expansion in communities outside of NYC to help more students access hands-on sustainability education
Who You Are:
We’re looking for candidates who enjoy building meaningful relationships, are passionate about sales and outreach, and are excited to expand access to sustainability education across the US.
Responsibilities
Corporate Partnership Development (50%)
- Sales & Outreach: Own NYSW’s sales process and pipeline of Fortune500 companies across NYC, including prospect identification, qualification, cultivation, and solicitation.
- Collateral Design: Develop compelling one-pagers, proposals, flyers, presentations and more to convey our work effectively and professionally to new and potential partners.
- Partner Success: Oversee the account management process end to end, including onboarding new corporate partners, coordinating volunteer events, providing reports and storytelling materials and keeping partners up to date on their impact. Ensure partner success and satisfaction.
- Research & Analysis: Use your analysis skills to research new potential partners and prepare the Development Director to have effective fundraising conversations.
School Partnership Expansion (50%)
- Research: Identify school districts, educational networks, and regional partners outside NYC where NY Sun Works programming could expand
- Pipeline Management: Develop and manage an outreach pipeline for new school partnerships outside of NYC, from initial contact through partnership agreement
- Sales & Cultivation: Reach out to and build relationships with school administrators, district leaders, and community organizations in target regions
- Collateral Design: Support the development of materials and frameworks to communicate our mission and programming to new geographies
- Reporting & Data Management: Track and report on expansion progress, pipeline activity, and partnership milestones
Qualifications
Required
- Demonstrated experience in nonprofit fundraising and/or sales/business development
- Strong relationship-building and communication skills — both written and verbal
- Ambitious self-starter with the ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and take initiative
- Passion for NY Sun Works’ mission — education equity, food access, and environmental sustainability
- Proficiency with standard office tools (Google Workspace)
Preferred
- Familiarity with corporate philanthropic giving, CSR programs, or cause-related marketing
- Experience in or knowledge of the K–12 education sector
- Existing network in the nonprofit, education, or sustainability sectors
- Familiarity with CRM systems
