SEPTEMBER

All Systems Go! – Starting Your Year Off in the HC

  • Who: Any partner teacher (PreK-12+)
  • Where: Virtual/Zoom

  • Overview:  Join us for this curriculum focused session to kick off the new school year! Our curriculum team will review how to navigate the learning center, how to access and modify the curriculum, and share exciting new updates to our curriculum and other resources. We will also help you navigate how to schedule your training and support and introduce new ways to connect with other Hydroponic Classroom teachers.

OCTOBER

Ask a GST – HC Scenarios & Solutions!

  • Who: Any partner teacher (PreK-12+)
  • Where: Virtual/Zoom
  • When:
  • Overview: Join us for a PD on HC Scenarios & Solutions! Leaks? Pests? Looking to boost your technical knowledge? If any of these sound familiar, this PD is for you!  This session will feature one of our expert Area Manager and/or Hydroponic Classroom Operations Specialists (GSTs) and cover the technical side of teaching in the Hydroponic Classroom. From general troubleshooting to advanced practices, please join us to learn more about how to get the most out of your HC. Come with plenty of questions for our resident experts, or feel free to submit questions ahead of time using this form.

Planning for Your Harvest

  • Overview: New teachers preparing for their first harvest and harvest veteran teachers alike are invited to join us to discuss all things harvest! We will discuss harvest lessons, crop calendars, and data sheets, and share strategies for managing the excitement of the first harvest of the year

Election Day PD

  • Overview: Join us for our full day Election Day PD! Come ready to learn and engage with fellow Hydroponic Classroom teachers and to take away ideas and resources for inspiring students to take action and become environmental stewards as they learn the science of hydroponic farming. Rooted in Inquiry

  • Who: Any partner teacher (PreK-12+)
  • Where: Virtual/Zoom
  • When:
  • Overview: Ready to move beyond the basics and start with student-led investigations in your HC? Join our curriculum team and veteran partner teachers who will share ideas on how to plan for inquiry and project-based learning using the systems, along with resources for student research. We will also have a brainstorming session to get you started on planning for this year’s Youth Conference!
