POP-UP @ ASTOR PLACE

Visit the NY Sun Works Pop-Up @ Astor Place
20 Astor Pl
New York, NY 10003

Open by appointment only

Plan a visit to our pop-up urban farm classroom and explore how hydroponic farming is changing the way science is taught in NYC public schools. You will see how NY Sun Works brings hands-on science, sustainability, and climate education to K-12 students while growing fresh vegetables right in their own classroom farm.

You can email us at pop-up@nysunworks.org to schedule an appointment.

Special thanks to Jeff Gural and GFP Real Estate for graciously hosting us in their space, and to Kay-Twelve, Lettuce Grow, Tower Garden, and Gotham Greens for their generous support.

NY Sun Works builds hydroponic farm classrooms in city schools to teach the science of sustainability through urban farming. Through our curriculum, we engage students and educators in hands-on, project-based environmental science education.

Our first hydroponic classroom opened at the Manhattan School for Children in 2010. Today, we’re partnered with nearly 200 schools across the five boroughs, reaching over 60,000 students a year.
