NYSW welcomes new school partners and celebrates 86 labs built across NYC and Northern New Jersey

August 20, 2018

Summer is always a super exciting time at NYSW and this year was no different. Our team finished building 15 new hydroponic science labs and we are thrilled to welcome our new school partners, teachers and students into the NY Sun Works family.

Our labs have sprouted in Brooklyn at: Brooklyn Tech, Bushwick Community High School, St. Saviour High School, The Brooklyn STEAM Center, PS274 Kosciusko and PS281 Joseph Cavallaro.

In Queens: St. Matthias Catholic Academy, PS 14 Fairview, PS 349, PS 84 and PS 126 will be diving into their new Greenhouse Project Classrooms.

In Manhattan: PS48 Michael J. Buczek, West End Secondary and City As School are starting up their labs when students return.

We were also very excited to add Thomas Edison Elementary school in Union City to our growing list of New Jersey partners.

A huge thank you to our friends Brooklyn Borough President Eric Adams, Manhattan Borough President Gale Brewer, Council Member Costa Constantinides, the Union City Board of Education, School Construction Authority and the NYC Dept of Education for their ongoing support and commitment to ensure that our public schools have access to meaningful science, sustainability and environmental education programs.
